我被機器翻譯打敗了：大一中......(張華)

剛剛再看，網站已把機器翻譯刪除，文尾的四句(詩?)也已改正為：

One China becomes a Broad One China. Warring governments become divided rule governments. The cries of apes from the shores echo endlessly. The sampan has already crossed ten thousand mountains.

人還是勝過機器。

Dateline Taipei (http://datelinetaipei.blogspot.tw/) 今天(2014.5.30)好像出了問題。

這是一個專門把台灣主要報紙的社論翻譯成英文的網站，譯者Bevin Chu可能是姓朱的華裔人士，社論的文筆一般較為典雅，能夠長期把中文譯成貼切的英文，中英文都要有相當功力，Bevin Chu顯然是其中高手。不過後來我注意到他對中文似乎還有心力不足的地方，在March 21, 2013的聯合報社論翻譯中，Bevin Chu自承有句中文看不懂：

The United States, even after the Fukushima nuclear disaster, approved nine nuclear power plants. It postponed the decommissioning of power plants, and began the construction of two nuclear power plants. [Translator's note: This passage is ambiguous and difficult to interpret. I was forced to guess.]

美國更在福島核災後，核准了九個核電機組延後除役及兩座核電機組的興建。

其實「核准了九個核電機組延後除役及兩座核電機組的興建」這句話並不十分複雜，甚至帶有英文文法的味道，對中國人好像也不十分困難。

再說今天上午一時興起，再度拜訪Dateline Taipei，卻被英文標題嚇了一跳：

Freshman in architecture: the only non- state theory of architecture

這是什麼話？再看中文：「大一中架構：唯一不是兩國論的架構」於是心中瞭然，顯然是機器翻譯，再送上google翻譯一番，果然一字不差(鍾校長也已發現)。心中正在納悶，過了約一個小時，發現譯本已改為：

Broad One China Framework: The Only Non-Two States Theory Framework

心中釋然，可是發現又有一個令人納悶的現象，原來的google翻譯版還在，而且中文貼了兩次，二者的排版海略有不同，於是從一英一中便成兩英兩中。

譯文的末尾又有一個令人不解的現象，先看中文：

一中變為大一中，交戰從此成分治；兩岸猿聲啼不住，輕舟已過萬重山。

兩個譯文同樣都譯成：

One becomes a freshman in
Since fighting ingredients governance ;
The two sides could not cry ape sound ,
Boat these ten thousand mountains .

我被機器打敗了。
