有的篇章可說走精甚多，譬如說，《莎士比亞之後》，載《谷川俊太郎詩選》頁238-40。
原詩有6處引莎士比亞處，譯的行數卻少掉數行。

作者所謂《馬庫貝斯》引了3處："不知何故(sic)大聲叫嚷(sic)
卻沒有任何意義。

谷川俊太郎在中國版的《谷川俊太郎詩選》的序言說: 漢詩奇妙。他詩中的平假名和片假名 (作者認為是日本文化的精華)都失蹤了。
"與其說詩是需要理解的東西，莫如說它是需要品位的東西。而美味的詩，才使上乘。" (前一句的翻譯冗長......)
