錢鍾書譯 potlatch為"不得落節" (管錐篇 頁100)

 薛稷(649-713)…..因爲薛稷的書法能夠很好地繼承褚遂良的筆法和風格,可謂河南公(褚遂良)之高足,甚爲時所珍尚。所以,當時就有買褚得薛,不失其節的說法。

他並舉格林多後書 (2 Corinthisans ) 第三章的下例:

2 Corinthians 3:6 (King James Version)

6Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.

有意思的是可以比較一般的兩版本:

「我們所能承擔的,乃是出於神,他叫我們能承當這新約的執事不是憑著字句,乃是憑著精意」(v.5-6)

思高本: 6. 並且是衪使我們能夠做新約的僕役:這約並不是在於文字,而是在於神,因為文字人死,神卻叫人活。
