The Bahá'í Faith (/bəˈhɑː, -ˈh/Persianبهائی‎ Bahā'i) is a religion teaching the essential worth of all religions, and the unity and equality of all people,[1] culminating in the emergence of peace and the coming of age of the entire human race.[2][3][4] The gradual consummation[5] of which to include the establishment of a new world order[6] and a world commonwealth[7]; where recognition of the Bahá'í Faith as the State Religion, "must be a supremely voluntary and democratic process."[8][9] Established by Bahá'u'lláh in 1863, it initially grew in Persia and parts of the Middle East, where it has faced ongoing persecution since its inception.[10] It is estimated to have between 5 and 8 million adherents, known as Bahá'ís, spread throughout most of the world's countries and territories.[11]
