今天讀到Gabriel Fauré 79歲時 (生命最後一年)，希望將一輩子所有的作品都毀掉，即，不想在人間留下任何跡象.......
這類故事似乎不少，譬如卡夫卡臨終要老友盡焚其稿.....(當然也有人執行其亡友之遺願的)

2月 22 將 New York Skyline 翻譯成"紐約地平線"，讓我警覺中、日辭典將skyline 與 horizon都翻譯成"地平線"。有問題：錯誤。一般的紐約市的人，看到"地平線"肯定不容易。
日文翻譯有人採用Skyline的音譯，這是西方的獨特概念吧。

現在 Wikipedia  有Xanthippe詳細資料，我奇怪的是將Xanthippe翻譯成西佩。
Wiki：贊西佩（又譯詹蒂碧、桑提婆、香蒂琵，Xanthippe/Xantippe）是哲學家蘇格拉底之妻，他們生有三個兒子。有關她的故事，比歷史事實還要多。傳說她比蘇格拉底年青得多，可能相差四十年。她以其尖銳的舌頭聞名，據說是唯一一人在討論時勝過蘇格拉底的。經過某次爭執後，她向蘇格拉底潑水，蘇格拉底說：「雷鳴之後，通常都會下雨。」

日文的發音翻譯可能更準確。 枯桑梯佩
