“scandal”..."agency", misspoke, enter the fray

民報去年12月16日，總統任期行將「磨損殆盡」(sic)（entered the fray ）的歐巴馬發表年終演說，再度高舉不合時宜的「一中政策」，而且指陳一項與事實不符的觀點，認為台灣只要能維持一定程度的自治權，就不會主張獨立。歐巴馬何其愚昧無知，如果台灣仍處於1970年代蔣家王朝獨裁統治時代，他的這番話或許有其時代脈絡的正確性；然而台灣早就蛻變為民主國家，歐巴馬卻仍沿用40年前的陳腐觀點來看待台灣。豈不知中國向來透過併吞少數民族，來壯大自己的野心勃勃國家嗎？過去中國吸納滿清、蒙古、新疆、西藏，成為其核心利益；如今又將台灣、南海視為其新「核心利益」之所在；難道美國要繼續縱容北京不知饜足的領土野心？

the "agency"是什麼意思？

這agency是促成王子的好事者，前者或是七矮人或玻璃棺，後者是那雙/隻鞋.....

據The Oxford Companion to Children Literature 兩詞條的說明，我的說法還是有點根據。

梁永安：順道一說，原文不是說白雪公主我見猶憐，大概是指這片可引發觀眾的（姑且這麼說）人性同情心，故譯文應說「我見猶憐特質」之類。

言盡於此。但校長的解釋真的很讚。

張華：這段話是迪斯尼檢討愛麗絲卡通片票房為何不佳的話。案迪斯尼到2013年共有11公主：Merida, Jasmine, Snow White, Fa Mulan, Aurora, Cinderella, Pocahontas, Tiana, Belle, Ariel Rapunzel, Merida, 就是沒有愛麗絲。

經過各位的指教，agency可能就是故事中使女主角轉好運的東西，例如白雪公主中王子的吻，或灰姑娘的玻璃鞋，sympathetic humanity可能就是可憐的身世。愛麗絲都沒有這些。

愛麗絲沒有的還有皆大歡喜的結局。

“scandal”是很常見的英文字眼，不過，如果不注意它的平常用法：
