誤譯："賦格式" (figural); Andrew Carnegie 自豪壯言：引言有漏。我的品味單純；

我自己選2008年Peter Gay 的《啟蒙運動》。這本書沒讀，所以要補課。由於這兩本是劉森堯和梁兄合譯的，所以誤譯比較難歸屬，不過我看幾頁，就碰到一嚴重的錯誤：上冊：研究著作評介p.3 "現實式與"賦格式" (figural).....劉兄著名的誤讀？連賦格的原文都記錯。 這是Erich Auerbach《摹仿論》 (MIMESIS) 的重要術語，目前其50周年紀念版的漢譯本為"喻象"，Edward W. Said 的導論，p. xvii...

這一翻譯問題多多。

plant 當"生產設備"時是集合名詞mass noun，沒有複數，所以plants 是大廠區。黑體字strip me of all these 沒譯出，無法表示強調語。have them all 是這些廠和錢等，不是"一切"。
